Delusions of Endless Growth!

Endless economic growth upon endless economic growth?
In nature all resources are finite - including land.
Perhaps we should find natural balance?

I am adding this post to the I-Ching because this is my life... This is also wisdom taught to me in my life until now. I have to be honest! I never liked school. I liked to draw pictures and to study for myself anything from Art to World History. I would sit in all the classes at school and think .. this setup is unrealistic and impractical as it teaches nothing to do with life and practical survival.

At age 17 I was happy to find my first job working in a bookshop. I read a lot of books and so I have to work in a bookshop! I already decided I did not want to go to College or University even though I had a brilliant mind. I was more inclined to applied real world than intellectual world. I thought everyone around me would be happy that I was working and bringing in money to buy food and pay the rent.

After a year went by I came under pressure from my family and extended family to BE SOMEONE. There was relentless pressure to go to College and get a Degree .. and I will explain why as all this is related to current world events and social unrest in every country. The education systems around the world are not practical .. they are simply a way to extract social wealth and create future debt.

My situation was the same that we see taking place in all countries experiencing a general growth in wealth. You send you kids to College .. you get them EDUCATED .. the next generation have to do SOMETHING with their LIVES. The young people have to be BETTER than their parents and improve their lives. Education is also a misrepresented status symbol for many families.

The situation in my life was that my parents generation after the 2nd WW experienced improved economic conditions and higher living standards [although we struggled financially as a family]. These parents wanted to see their children get an education. These parents were deprived of that level of indulgence. Having a College or University Degree was something they could only dream of. I came under pressure at 18 years old to fulfill my parents dreams. If I did not have a College Degree then I was a worthless nobody.

At 18 years old I held out for some time and refused to discuss a College education and then close neighbours added even more pressure [all the same neglected generation as my parents] .. and so I went out to get myself a College Degree. I wanted to study ART .. but as I had a B+ in Sociology the academics refused my art application and would only accept me for Social Sciences.

These academics who totally worship grades were in shock that I would want to learn Art when it was clear I was a top research student who clearly understood the workings of society. People at the time told me that I would never have a future with an Art Degree but that Social Sciences would underscore my Career.

I am going to skip a few blocks to having a good Social Science Degree. BUT in the four years I studied the external political climate changed radically and by the time I graduated there was a secret politically motivated employment block in place for anyone with a Social Science Degree. I did not know this at the time .. but everywhere I went with this Degree was a closed door!

The political reasons for this illegal act was that the close study of society and power .. institutions .. corporations .. was seen as being Socialist / Communist and a threat to the fixed social order. If the fixed social order is that weak .. that it cannot absorb insight and observation ?? Then it is inherently a closed system based on fear .. lies and slight of hand.

Like a Casino they do not want you observing the dealing of cards from the bottom of the deck. I then worked in a rural country postal delivery service that I truly enjoyed more than anything. I again came under pressure from my friends and family .. that I have a good Degree and I work delivering letters in the middle of nowhere out in the boon-dogs.

Did they mean I would have been better off in a city?

I discovered that a College Degree was really a superficial form of prestige and has absolutely nothing to do with the real world: Survival and production of goods and resources. At least an ARTIST produces creative value that can alter the minds and hearts of people regardless of language barriers and nationality.

The education system is based on the delusions of endless growth.

The truth is that endless and ever increasing growth does not exist .. and that Nature does not allow it to exist. It is an intellectual ideal that is physically impossible to maintain. The growth period experienced by my parents generation was based on resource costs and a growth in production. By the time I graduated the system was in a state of decline. The high point had been reached and the reset was on the down curve.

Economically the system had reached it resource production high point resulting in higher wages .. higher costs .. higher prices .. increasing house prices with higher taxes and social costs. Everything was going higher and the result was that western society reached a ceiling. Then began the downward trend while financial institutions and taxes increased their charge on society.

Delusions of Endless Growth!
As you can imagine! Knowing what I know I am not going to believe the MAGICIAN. Nor am I going to trust the card dealer at the Casino. I am going to watch them dealing from the bottom of the pack. Then I am going to questing the everybody wins theology posted on the doors of the Casinos. The whole societal model is based on a complete illusion [or lie].

The model of bigger returns for ever and ever into the future is insane. The pressure is on for the next generation to go one higher than their parents or be seen as FAILURES. This whole psychology is a game. Very few people have their eye on the ball. Too few people know what is taking place around them.

Rather than the illusion of endless growth society needs balance. Part of the current problem is that everyone in the Casino got too greedy. We don't need businesses to expand. The base of production and building has to be in proportion to the human and physical environments. Most important of all: Water resources have to be protected.

The Casino Is Rigged
Many students leave College only to find that it is the right CONNECTIONS that get you a job and not the College Degree. This mindset is similar to generations of family passing on knowledge and skills. The connections activity is actually a animal based behaviour from early agricultural and hunter gatherer cultures. If you study anthropological rural communities the same process is used to pass resources to the next generations.

For a naive student to turn up in a business environment with a Degree and expect to be successful is like a person born in a large city with no experience of farming communities to expect to be accepted into a society that knows how to feed itself from Nature.

Yes! The behaviour is exclusive! But it is founded on customs of generations of families teaching and passing on their knowledge and experience to the younger generation. Financial and political institutions are using the same behaviour thinking that they are more advanced than farmers and rural communities.

The Internet is to some extent changing this pathway.

The Internet allows a new form of cross-learning and communication that is creating a Global Planetary Family with self-organising learning structures and broader knowledge sharing. Because this level of technology is new to mankind there are no set rules for abilities to learn coding or technical applications. This could change the world!

If there are broad based non-personal learning and sharing applications then the old models of knowledge sharing on a limited family scale morph into a larger Open Source learning application that can be effortlessly applied anywhere in the world by anyone who has the skill to do so.

In a way the narrow door to knowledge of the past has now been opened up to Universal Knowledge and Universal Sharing without borders and without gatekeepers. At the same time there has to be an understanding that balance and not exponential growth is the key to success.

I am putting this with the I-Ching posts because the I Ching taught me this .. or revealed this to me. Actually it is very simple: We live in an intellectual world of illusion and we worship THOUGHT. The human intellect is thought to be the highest factor and basic economy is the lowest factor. What I am about to say next is not POLITICAL in any way! It is simply the Art of Obervation = seeing.

Economy is based on one thing: RESOURCES.

Basically the economy is what YOU need to live. The resources are water .. food .. metals .. oil .. plastics .. stone .. wood .. energy and one could also say LAND is a resource. These are some of the physical resources without which your life would be ?? pretty miserable.

Let's go through this step-by-step using observation! Take a few minutes out of your life to do this exercise in observation. You can also take a few hours .. or take a whole day .. a few weeks .. months or the rest of your life to be aware and observe what is!

You start by looking around you and asking yourself what would your life be like without the support of all the resources that surround you. Stone wood or concrete .. what are the walls of your home built from? Metal or plastic pipes bring water to your home. That water flows out of metal taps. Otherwise you would need a bucket to go collect water.

Oh! A bucket! Another PHYSICAL RESOURCE.

What about heating your home or cooking food? The fire .. the knife .. the mixer .. the mortar and pestle .. the pots and pans! What fuel do you use? All these are physical resources. What kinds of foods do you eat and where do they come from? All these are physical resources.

Try and imagine you have nothing that is around you now! How would you live?

The next level is the people who work to create everything we use in society that makes all of us rich. By this I mean that if I have a bowl of rice to eat then I am rich. If I do not have that bowl of rice I am going to eventually starve. Then there are the people who make sure that water flows to my apartment every day. If someone does not grow the rice and if someone does not maintain the water flow? Have you ever gone without food for over a week? Have you ever had your water supply cut off for maintenance?

All the humans who produce those resources are at the bottom of the ladder and probably receive the smallest share of the total economic gain and riches. I am sure now you understand why I say that this observation is not political in any way. I am simply being a realist!

Change is The Economy!
Having studied various world situations using the I Ching or Book of Changes .. I began to digest what I was seeing [or being shown]. Of course I want a better world for everyone and not only for myself! Let us put all this aside and simply pay attention to what is = the day to day reality. That is really our own reality! The challenges that face all of us every day.

Much higher up the scale are the intellectuals and political money systems. These higher intellectual positions receive the greatest share of the financial system in return for keeping "order" and "stability". You pay the head of the horse to direct the body of the horse [society].

If you study the human brain this social order model changes .. because the human brain actually works to maintain the whole body .. the glands .. the skeletal structure .. the organs and the nervous system. The Temple of Man is the BODY where healthy functions of the body are the secret codes of future society.

For the physical brain to be healthy the whole physical body has to be maintained [in balance]. The brain works tirelessly day and night to balance the benefit to the whole physical body: The temple of man = your body here and now. Also .. unknown to current science the brain is inside and directly connected to every cell in the human body.

Not only does the brain have its own seamlessly interconnected WI-FI [Chi] system that also runs back and forward through the meridians .. but the brain is inside the cell connected to all the organs and body functions. The brain maintains health by maintaining the functions of the body at all levels. When you sleep .. the brain is still working 24/7 serving and maintaining the body.

The intellect maintains that politics govern society and that politics and finance are at the heart of social order and change. In the real world it is the economy and economic activity that alters society for the good or the bad. Economic activity can create growth and it can also create societal collapse.

Look at the world through new eyes without focusing on the political viewpoint. Libya .. Egypt .. Ukraine .. all received NEW POLITICAL SYSTEMS over the last few years and they are all in an ongoing state of [economic] crisis! China has not changed its political systems and has benefited from a longer period of sustained economic growth.

Let us look at the next paradigm lie: That European countries grew stronger because of advanced political systems of Democracy and Universal Suffrage! The painful reality is that change came with economic growth .. improved life styles and an increase in economic activity. What makes Europe different to what we see today? Politics? Democracy? No! RESOURCES #_#

Go back historically to the Spanish in South America or the fight over the newly founded North American Colonies... These were resource wars based on economics of trade. Physical resource trading [I should say the control of physical resource trades and trade routes] is the foundation of every Empire and/or society and the development of shared wealth.

The fact is that countries remain stable through times of wealth and growth and become unstable during times of economic hardship and decline REGARDLESS OF THE POLITICAL SYSTEM !! Physical economic development is the change factor in society and not politics.

Why is Europe facing a growing crisis? After the 2nd World War all European countries made a fatal mistake. A mistake that could only create short term growth but would never create long term growth. Following the colonial lead of America's economic model [after the war] the Europeans began to solidify economic growth into the hands of a very few giant corporations sucking the base of the pyramid foundation wealth out of the day to day economy.

Just imagine the base of the pyramid is being turned to rubble...

China has survived so far because the economics of trade still filters down to the smaller masses in terms of functioning small businesses and street trade. Over fifty years European small family business trade was totally destroyed until the small business model became virtually extinct.

BIG IS BETTER [for the state].

What I am trying to say is that there has to be a realistic understanding of the dynamics of economic trade [resources] and of how economies function .. including the relationship between resources and base level economic activity. Then you have to curtail the various taxes including financial institutions taxation on pyramid base level transactions.

When you destroy the pyramid base .. no one at the top is going to survive!

I may be wrong? Over the last two years I watched a lot of videos about Hong Kong and it seems that as the demand for physical resource space grew and grew = due to extreme economic success .. the small base wealth distribution declined. I am not an expert #_# .. but I imagine that as the small family businesses were pushed out by expanding retail and property markets .. that this lead to more and more resources allocated to large institutions plus large corporations and less resources allocated to small businesses.

Do not forget that land [physical space] is a resource!

If you have a small property [land area] to trade then you have an income. This no longer exists in Europe and is probably dying out in Hong Kong. By destroying the small amount of base resource and economic trade for the societal pyramid base .. you can forget any idea of politics .. then you have a real ECONOMIC CRISIS.

Having been a British [no rights to vote] Colony for 156 years Hong Kong saw the end of British colonial rule in 1997 .. when a transfer of authority to China was undertaken under the One Country Two System policy. After 156 years of British colonial rule most people in Hong Kong were denied a British Passport #_#

I was born into this world with very high ideals .. and more than anything else I wanted to see the growth of a world society based on love respect and honour. As a young child I would hear of all the news my parents talked about and it caused me heartache. When people think that little children are just "a child" with no experience .. this is not true. The experience is there!

I have to be honest! At the same time in my life I was aware of and was being taught by mysterious beings who were like Ancient Masters much older than the Earth and Mankind. These Ancient Masters called us humans: Their children. I was using the I Ching [Wilhelm English translation] from around the age of 13 years old. I used the Book of Changes and I taught myself by studying the book.

Partly using the I Ching and partly through direct communication the Ancient Masters taught me not only about direct confrontation but they more importantly taught me that living is an ART. They taught the Art of Living. I wanted to get involved in politics during my student time and they said to me: No! You are not going to waste your life .. it is too precious. They mean .. throw away my life!

Maybe two days ago I decided to use the I Ching to understand the dynamics of the events unfolding in Hong Kong. When I saw the Hexagram I thought to myself: I am not going to post this! I just use it to understand the energies of the future interacting with the now. I placed the large book on top of some Bleach Manga DVDs and I went to bed. In the middle of the night I woke up and in the next nano-second the heavy book fell down with a loud crash.

There was no reason for the book to fall as I always sit it on top of the DVDs beside my desk! In the early morning I looked to see what had fallen in the night and to my complete surprise it was The I Ching or Book of Changes. Then I thought maybe there is a reason I should share this reading? For reasons that I currently do not know of!

39. Chien Obstruction / Hardship: Difficulties and obstructions throw a man back upon himself. While the inferior man seeks to put the blame on other persons, bewailing his fate, the superior man seeks the error within himself, and through this introspection the external obstacle becomes for him an occasion for inner enrichment and education.

Usually people look at life as two opposing forces and we think one is good and one is bad .. one is righteous and one is corrupt. Using the I Ching I was taught to seek the balance of forces and not ask weighted questions. Actually I do not ask questions .. I just look with balanced mind at the energy involved directly balanced as yin and yang forces.

If you ask the I Ching a weighted opinionated question this will influence the resulting Hexagrams. The I Ching will then teach you according to your own nature. On one level the I Ching shows us ourselves and state of our own minds. On another level a calm mind can remain silent and look into the future.

It is important to understand that the future interacts with us now like an ocean. If you are a dolphin and you swim in the ocean then the water around you at any point in space and time is the NOW... The rest of the ocean represents the past and the future. For example .. you just swam from eating fish close to the shore and now you are migrating deeper into the ocean itself. So .. where you are going is the future and it already exists. The I Ching shows: HOW you get there is more important than where you are going.

We currently do not know the physical future as such .. but the energy of the future is touching us now and interacting with us now .. and it is never what we THINK it is to be. In relation to Hong Kong [or any situation] everything is ENERGY. Not only is energy necessary to power our world .. but energy is the key force of the human body and the mind. All physical events are dynamic movements of energy that can also be dynamic stillness.

I use the I Ching to understand the energy or movement of life force.

Life force is much greater than the sum of all humans on the Earth. Life force is so powerful that it seamlessly interacts with every human on the Planet individually while at the same time interacting with the collective. I should also have said that Life Force seamlessly interacts with the individual karmic human where past and future incarnations are related.

The I Ching reading: 39. Chien Obstruction / Hardship has three moving lines. Nine in the third place - Six in the fourth place - Six at the top .. leading to the associated Hexagram 12. P'i Standstill / Stagnation. To understand the energy in terms of yin and yang... What I am trying to say is that EVERYONE is constrained. Events currently stand at an impasse.

I hope this makes sense!

One could say that many diverging interests currently seek power at a time where all those involved are constrained by hindrance: Difficulties and hardship are obstructing all parties. In The Complete I Ching Taoist Master Alfred Huang translates this as Jian Hardship: Originally, Jian meant lame or a lame person. From lame, its meaning extends to encompass difficulty in walking or hardship. Sequence of the Gua: If there is misunderstanding and diversity in a household, surely hardship will result. Thus, after Diversity, Hardship follows.

I could be wrong? I suspect that this is really indicating the need for retreating into general overall necessity of working on one's own inner character [at all levels]. For everyone the current energy is not favourable to moving forward and so we are seeing a restriction.

Never look only at one side .. always look at the energy involved as an undivided whole. In terms of a Planetary Society the entire world is currently unable to find balance. As I observe this I do not think that little by little one fragment of the world will create balance. There is going to have to be what I would describe as a reboot. Installing a new Operating System that interconnects seamlessly.

The struggle that is effecting everyone is the Economy. I think everyone has to be realistic about this. We humans like to see ourselves as intellectual beings who have risen higher than the animals. If we are honest we are not living any different than the animals in terms of survival and reliance on basic needs. It is these basic needs that drives everyone [from the background].

Very often the WAY something is done is much more important than the action taken. It does not matter what you do but the governing principle behind all action and re-action is HOW you do what you do. It is the HOW and not the WHAT that defines the FUTURE. This is the hidden key of life that is so subtle very few people are even aware of the hidden force that governs the future.

Both males and females are caught in this ultra masculine matrix of the power model in which what you do is more important than how you do it. Women are using the same .. let's say excess yang model of the active expanding male principle - forceful direct action. The whole world believes that WHAT you do is the real power that defines the future.

If you study the I Ching it is clear that HOW you do something creates the future.

I am trying to say that how comes back to haunt us and what we do is simply the process of direct action. People today do not question how something is done and so we have lost the Art of Living. The future comes back to haunt us until we listen and pay attention. How an action is taken is much more important than the action itself. This is like a navigation compass guiding us.

In the same light how we view something is more important that what we are viewing or looking at. If we look at an event only from our own point of view this will create "how we act". When we look with much greater vision and become aware that everyone is effected by the same circumstances of a cycle .. this creates how we act. Looking beyond self is not easy as it means we have to question ourselves most of all.

I Ching: Catalonia Independence

15. Ch'ien - Six at the top means:
Modesty that comes to expression.
It is favorable to set armies marching To chastise
one’s own city and one's country.

On September 27, 2014 the Catalonia President Artur Mas signed a decree for a vote on Catalan Independence vote to take place on November 9, 2014. Whether the vote goes ahead or not is irrelevant .. as Spain are seeking to block the vote from taking place.

Rather than move into the area of Catalan as a Federal State .. because the vote is currently being opposed by the central Spanish Government in power. This may change over time as the future transforms in many ways. I decided to stay with the energy of the now and find out what the I Ching can reveal about this process.

15. Ch'ien Modesty / Humbleness
When a man holds a high position and is nevertheless modest, he shines with the light of wisdom; if he is in a lowly position and is modest, he cannot be passed by. Thus the superior man can carry out his work to the end without boasting of what he has achieved.

The wealth of the earth in which a mountain is hidden is not visible to the eye, because the depths are offset by the height of the mountain. Thus high and low complement each other, and the result is the plain. Here an effect that it took a long time to achieve, but that in the end seems easy of accomplishment and self-evident, is used as the image of modesty.

The superior man does the same thing when he establishes order in the world; he equalizes the extremes that are the source of social discontent and thereby creates just and equable conditions.

The I Ching or Book of Changes - Richard Wilhelm

There is one moving line: Six at the top: "A person who is really sincere in his modesty must make it show in reality. He must proceed with great energy in this. When enmity arises nothing is easier than to lay the blame on another. A weak man takes offense perhaps, and draws back, feeling self-pity; he thinks that it is modesty that keeps him from defending himself. Genuine modesty sets one to creating order and inspires one to begin by disciplining one’s own ego and one’s immediate circle. Only through having the courage to marshal one’s armies against oneself, will something forceful really be achieved."

The following Hexagram is: 52. Ken Keeping Still / Mountain. Master Huang [The Complete I Ching] .. translates this energy as: Sequence of the Gua: Events cannot continue in motion without stopping; they must take a rest. Thus, after Taking Action, Keeping Still follows.

52. Gen Keeping Still
From the very beginning of Chinese culture, ancient sages emphasized keeping still. Keeping still is not keeping merely the body still but the mind and spirit as well, and is called "sitting in stillness" or "nourishing the spirit."

While sitting still in a lotus posture, one is shaped like a mountain. Sitting in stillness, or in meditation as Westerners call it, is a self-disciplinary training. While doing this, one is able to control the mind and the breath, to be introspective about one’s shortcomings and to cultivate inner strength and virtue. Mencius says, "I am skillful in nourishing my imperishable noble spirit." When one is in a state of stillness, one is oblivious to one's surroundings. This is the highest stage of non attachment. In such a state there is no fault in one's being.

It is believed that when Heaven is about to confer a great mission on a person, it first exercises his or her mind and spirit with discipline. Keeping still is meant to prepare one’s mind and spirit to progress when the time comes.

The Complete I Ching - Master Huang

Richard Wilhelm The I Ching or Book of Changes translates: 52. Gen Keeping Still / Mountain as: "The heart thinks constantly. This cannot be changed, but the movements of the heart—that is, a man’s thoughts—should restrict themselves to the immediate situation. All thinking that goes beyond this only makes the heart sore."

In general it would seem that the energy involved in the question of Catalan Independence is balanced with humility and one can say fairness. This is related in terms of the I Ching to co-operation and harmony. Master Huang interprets this energy as: "To respect people and treat them equally. Only in this way can true peace and harmony be established in a community."

Seeking Harmony Is The Key To A Great Harvest
Because the following Hexagram is 52. Ch'ien Keeping Still .. I would say that there is not so much "opposition" that would indicate direct confrontation .. but there is a more powerful solid base that will not go away. No matter what happens the "mountain" indicates this energy / intent is not going to disappear.

The I Ching gives no indication of time .. and so this process is timeless.

Obstruction and failure do not appear. What the I Ching shows is BALANCE. Humility and balance go hand in hand. The defining forces have to be balanced in order to create fairness. This is not a conflict situation. Catalan Independence is about fairness and respect.

52. Top Six. Humbleness alternates to Keeping Still
If a great country treats a smaller country with humility,
It will gain the obedience of the smaller country.
If a small country treats a great country with humility,
It will obtain the magnanimity of the great country.
Therefore one benefits by becoming humble;
The other benefits by being humble.

The Complete I Ching - Master Huang

It seems that the general continuity we regard as society is being stopped. Things cannot keep moving as they are now. This also indicates primordial forces that cannot be restrained. The mountain is timeless .. and also points towards stability. On closer observation separation is involved in 52. Ch'ein Keeping Still .. by this there are indications of divergent movements.

There is an indication of resistance .. but in terms of energy involved this does not change co-operation and respect of people involved in this process. In terms of the I Ching restriction is not necessarily a bad thing. It causes [within itself] an unusual kind of change that is hardly noticed by most people it is so subtle.

When you notice change it shocks you .. when change is silent there is nothing to fear. Because the image of the mountain is involved .. I would say that Catalan Independence is simply part of a much larger issue not isolated to Catalonia .. that will grow stronger in the months and years ahead.

The beauty of this is that it is PEACEFUL ...

Even if the opposition is aggressive .. threatening and fearful of change! The I Ching: 15. Ch'ien Modesty / Humbleness reading ignores the reaction / response of those who fear change. In many ways the reactionary response is irrelevant. The relevant energy is respect .. co-operation .. stability .. humility and inner vision. This is not a conflictual reading .. this is about balance.

I Ching: A European Federation

The system is broken and fragmented
and cannot be fixed - it can only be replaced.

The I Ching never ceases to amaze me! When used correctly and with great patience the Book of Changes will ignore the individual [questioner] and will simply tell it as it is. The post has two parallel views: One is the current state of the EU and where it is currently going .. and the other view is the result of dreams from the future.

What do I mean by: Dreams from the future? In a sense we are the future! Not only because our actions create the world's path into the future .. but because we will live in the future we create now. Not only do we inherit the future across our individual life spans on this Planet .. but we reincarnate to live again in the world we formed when we were alive. Apart from all that the most important factor is the journey of our soul and the cultivation of primal chi = love = compassion. You don't take all your riches with you when you die .. but you do take the energy of what you cultivated = negative or positive emotions and states of mind.

46. Sheng Pushing Upward / Growing Upward

The pushing upward of the good elements encounters no obstruction and is therefore accompanied by great success. The pushing upward is made possible not by violence but by modesty and adaptability. Since the individual is borne along by the propitiousness of the time, he advances. He must go to see authoritative people. He need not be afraid to do this, because success is assured. The way of inferior people is in ascent; the way of superior people is on the decline. But the superior people do not allow themselves to be turned from their principles. If the possibility of exerting influence is closed to them, they nevertheless remain faithful to their principles and withdraw into seclusion.

The meaning could not be clearer .. and this relates to everything we see happening in the World today. The inferior force is self-interest / greed / fear / misuse of power. It is sort of like when there are gamblers in the house who use everyone's resources to feed their addictions. There is going to come a point where the family realise that everything they worked for collectively is GONE.

Rather than have scenes of violent upheaval! I feel that there is still the potential to use intelligence of change rather than violent change. Because violent change solves nothing. That is what humans have been doing for thousands of years and has anything really changed? Do we have peace?

A European Federation
This reading is part of my inquiry into British Federation .. European Federation and in my next post: A Planetary Federation. I will relate this directly to the I Ching [Book of Changes]. I have an unusual mind .. and I do not use the I Ching to see future events and not physical events. It's all about energy / energy pathways and collective psychic energy.

So .. how does the future connect to your dreams and communicate with you? First of all there are different futures. The future is not a linear one path event! The future is full of holes. You could say dimensional holes of many probable futures all existing now .. but we usually cannot see other dimensions.

The next misconception is that we all share the same future. Not necessarily .. as people of like mind travel together through space and time creating and experiencing their paths together through many portals of existence. So .. the Dali Lama may incarnate into an alternative future timeline .. but he may not incarnate into this created future.

Why would the future then warn us to change direction? Compassion!

Our World is currently in a primary child state and we are not making the grade of self-responsible planetary communities who are balanced and capable enough to govern our own affairs in peace and with respect. Europe does not want to admit it! But they are fractured and divided in their direction and outlook. Major fault lines are appearing and no one seems to know how to deal with them.

In the age of technology and the internet .. countries and states are still using political and financial systems from the Middle Ages. Just think about that! Do you drive a car or a horse and cart? The political systems still drive a horse and cart! Politically and financially we are living in the past within a modern highly technological World!

What is currently happening is that the so-called Independence Movements are slowly becoming a political force within Europe. Rather than fight to destroy the system .. they say: Okay! Let's create something new based on new principles. They are not going into direct conflict! They are saying: How can we move around the system to create Federal States.

The key problem we face today is that it is acceptable to create change through war protests and violence .. but it is not okay to create change through peaceful referendums. In this respect we have the last Hexagram 12. P'i Hindrance / Stagnation with all that is implied.

The communities calling for Independence are not trying to destroy .. they are trying to build. Here we are back to the horse and cart analogy. The horse and cart system does not want to be overtaken by a car! Even on the motorway we all have to drive behind the horse and cart.

We have this technological revolution together with the Internet .. but the human being is to live back in the Middle Ages psychologically and also physically in terms of poverty and social deprivation. This is what I mean about mankind living in a primary child state.

The communities calling for the creation of Independent Federal States are not destroying society. These people want to create modern systems that work. The key positive energy behind this process is that it is peaceful [therefore superior in its goals]. At the same time the sign of Stagnation relates to an attempt to keep things as they are = corruption.

I may be wrong? I think the I Ching is indicating that change will only come about through a shared response where the greater society understands what is at stake and there is a peaceful shared transition. As the current situation is that those who seek change are perceived as "a danger"

When, owing to the influence of inferior men, mutual mistrust prevails in public life, fruitful activity is rendered impossible, because the fundaments are wrong. Therefore the superior man knows what he must do under such circumstances; he does not allow himself to be tempted by dazzling offers to take part in public activities. This would only expose him to danger, since he cannot assent to the meanness of the others. He therefore hides his worth and withdraws into seclusion.

The cracks and fragmentation with the EU are getting bigger [not smaller] and no one seems to want to even consider that this is because there is something inherently wrong with the model and operation. Related to this is a much more subtle factor that everyone underestimates.

The subtle factor is: Who changes the program!

It's kind of like the question: Do you overtake the horse and cart? Are you ALLOWED to overtake the horse and cart? If there are laws that state: Thou shalt not overtake any horse and cart under any circumstance... Then everyone has to drive behind the horse and cart system.

This analogy is related to the Internet and society at large as well as those currently running the political and financial systems. These are a generation who do not understand the Internet in any way shape or form. That is partly what I mean about the horse and cart.

The Internet is not about having a mobile phone! The Internet is an extension of the human mind .. where we humans are interacting with the internet and interacting with our own minds. You have many layers of the Internet all seamlessly interacting .. and it is ALL ONE INTERNET. Even the spying has to seamlessly interact with the whole Internet = we are all interconnected.

There is a standing generation who have no clue about the Internet .. why it exists .. what it is for and how it will develop in the future. So .. what are they doing? Because they do not understand it they are trying to restrict it. Again we are back to the horse and cart! Let's slow down the Internet!

Not only do they not understand the Internet .. but they really do not understand the changes it is bringing to the Planet. Trying to use the Internet as a medium of control is like trying to bang a nail into a piece of wood using your mobile phone.

The Internet can be used as a platform for peace. It is not really about social interactions. Social media is the sideline of the real force that is the Internet. Social media is part of the interactions that take place .. but it is not the core function. The Internet is like a brain .. like an external brain [mirror to ourselves] and everything that takes place in terms of interactions relies on that open interactive structure. Seamless operation of multilevel communications.

In a way the internet is already a Planetary Federation in cyber space!

I Ching: A British Federation

Leveraging the power of fear can work two ways:
It can work for you and it can also work against you.

Leverage means to influence [a bargaining chip] authority [trump hand].

Scotland voted no yesterday [September 18, 2014] to a chance to run their own affairs [55% voted no]. This is an event Sociological. Those voting no voiced their fear of change and those voting yes saw change as a positive thing. In general people fear change unless they feel that it would be to their advantage .. and Scotland is a micro-mirror to the rest of the world.

First I want to go into the I Ching reading. When you use the I Ching always have a calm mind. Do not consult the I Ching if you are upset or irritated as this energy will influence the reading. One always has to have inner discipline and postpone the inquiry until there is calm mind.

The no votes decided the path into the future and so I put my mind through the I Ching: The Book of Changes. 19. Lin Approaching [Approach Leadership Arriving] .. with two moving lines leading to the relating Hexagram 61. Zhong Fu Inner Truth [Innermost Sincerity]. In the I Ching when there are moving lines the primary and the related Hexagrams interact.

Your own mind also has to go beyond the I Ching. Basically the reading helped me to understand many things and put them all together. In a way I Ching The Book of Changes is a time capsule that allows the mind to move beyond its spatial restrictions and bring deeper understanding [and compassion].

The two moving lines: Good fortune sincerely approaching. The will is carrying on inwardly. Until the Spring of 2015 things seem to go well .. but in the eight month .. September 2015 there is misfortune. [The eight month in Chinese calendar is September - Watching].

This gua tells us that the time for establishing the Zhou dynasty was approaching. King Wen’s Decision says yuan, heng, li, zhen. It also mentions that King Wu became sick in the eighth month. The Duke of Zhou narrates that as King Wu responded to the approaching situation, the divination augured good fortune and nothing unfavorable. But after he took over the Shang dynasty, there was no peace. The omen changed from nothing being unfavorable to nothing being favorable.

61. Zhong Fu Innermost Sincerity / Inner Truth relates to the advantage of a great undertaking - good fortune - favorable to cross great rivers. The image of crossing great rivers is related to perseverance in carrying out a great journey.

It is important to understand upon what the force of inner truth depends. This force is not identical with simple intimacy or a secret bond. Close ties may exist also among thieves; it is true that such a bond acts as a force but, since it is not invincible, it does not bring good fortune. All association on the basis of common interests holds only up to a certain point.

Where the community of interest ceases, the holding together ceases also, and the closest friendship often changes into hate. Only when the bond is based on what is right, on steadfastness, will it remain so firm that it triumphs over everything.

I will try to be brief .. but my understanding it that nothing is solved. The reason I say this is... When any society is ruled by fear and insecurity [the majority vote] then that society is inherently unstable. This applies to Europe and the rest of the World. You paste over the cracks until the house falls down.

If I am not mistaken the current situation is a compromise at best! The potential instability is a future "crisis". This may or may not play out between Spring and September 2015. I don't know .. because the I Ching is not so much a book of physical changes .. but is a book of ENERGY! Energy and change .. energy and transformation .. adapting to new circumstances. It is about BALANCE.

In the I Ching 19. Lin / Approach the sage in the two moving lines could be interpreted as a wise leader .. but in general the I Ching is revealing the energy [deeper psyche] within and behind events. So .. the wisdom of the sage is more a state of mind than alluding to an individual. Almost like an Archetypal force rather than base physical structures.

My assessment? The problem has not been solved.

Historical Reference / Observations
The 55 percent who voted out of fear and anxiety of change are themselves the "fear factor" and everyone in Europe has to pay careful attention to this °_° .. because the fear factor can also turn against you at any point in space and time [future]. Many of you imagine that the Scottish Independence 45% are your problem. That is not the case. These are people who want to actively solve problems and create a better society = for everyone .. not just for themselves.

The I Ching reveals "future issues" leading to misfortune based on this current situation = the future is now! You are all going to come back to this issue time and time again. It is not going to go away. This cannot be swept under the carpet. In a financial crisis [that is coming] these same 55% fear voters will turn against YOU .. when you do not serve their self-interest. So .. you have to get your brains straight and understand that the people who want change are NOT your enemies. People have to work together. You can play the fear card now .. but in the future it is going to backfire!

The people unafraid of change want a balanced intelligent solution to a broken system. We all live in 2014 and we are using an outdated political system more suitable for the Middle Ages. The fear factor works both ways! The fear factor is not a SOLUTION. They are just papering over the cracks in the architecture until the house falls down. This is not a balanced solution!

The Damage Is Done
Now there is talk of a "Federal Britain" where English only Parliament vote on English only issues .. and there is an Irish only parliament .. a Welsh only parliament and a Scottish only parliament. Does that sound like a UNION? It sounds like a f#cking mess! I am sorry to laugh .. but it sounds like the whole family live in separate rooms and do not talk to each other... GREAT !!

So! Better together! Better apart!

What happened in Scotland? In the 1979 Scottish Parliament Referendum [devolution] there was a 60% voter turnout where 74% voted for devolution and 25% against. Essentially the higher voter turnout for Scottish Independence [85%] .. resulted in a 25% of voters not interested in a Scottish Parliament who turned out to block the Scots self-governing of Scotland economically and politically. The high turnout was not in favor of "Yes For Scotland" campaign!

Logically the 55% of Scots voting for the right not to determine their own future is a blatant political and social hypocrisy that should technically lead to the dissolving of the Scottish Parliament and any from of self-determination. If Scotland are afraid to make self-sustaining decisions for their future .. then how can they move towards Devo Max? How can you give more powers to a country that just rejected their own right to make decisions? I hope that makes sense #_#

In sociopolitical technical terms a 25% surge in voter participation resulting in a 55% rejection of parliamentary governance of any kind and would negate any form of self-governance in Scotland .. period! I mean this in terms of the psychology of social science. How can Scotland be incapable of self-governance and yet have a parliament? Logically it makes no sense.

This is why I say the system is broken = watch out!

The I Ching indicates more tribulations on the horizon and a turning of the worm [of fear] against the forces who used the energy of fear to create the outcome they wanted at that time. Leverage .. influence [a bargaining chip] authority [trump hand]. You spin the wheel and you gamble on the FUTURE.

The System Is Broken
Although the I Ching shows potential for solutions and great crossings [being advantageous] .. it does not mean that Europe or the World will currently make those moves towards co-operation and reconciliation. Currently we are fragmented! This is why I say Scotland is a micro-mirror of the entire Planet we live on today.

In the 2014 Year of The Chinese [Fire] Horse the countries in the World are all facing off on each other. In fact .. there is no way Scotland could gain self-governing Independence [peacefully] in a Fire Horse year. The horse also represents AUTHORITY and POWER = GOVERNANCE. This concept also relates to military as well as trade and transportation of oil and gas.

Across the Planet you see Russia facing off the EU and America .. you see China facing off in the South China Sea .. you see Japan facing off Russia and China in territorial disputes [this is all fire horse]. You see Scotland facing off against England and Catalonia facing off against Spain! Need I continue?

The point I am trying to make [revealed to me in the I Ching reading] is that the so-called Independence movements are not bad and they are not "the enemy" and they are not working for destabilisation. These people are genuinely looking for solutions .. and not only that! They are looking for solutions that work. Few understand that the REAL DANGER is the population FEAR FACTOR .. that has shown itself to be a 55% majority in the Scottish Referendum.

What is not currently recognised .. because future "misfortune" on economic and banking levels could potentially bring the fearful 55% to turn against the established order in a mass panic. You play with fire and you get burned with fire. Yin yang = cause and effect!

The general voter turnout for the Scottish Parliament elections is generally 50% .. that means 50% of voters have no interest in a Scottish Parliament! In the 2010 UK Parliament [Westminster] election the turnout in Scotland was 63.8% .. and there you have the basic social and political interest on a sociological level.

A desire to create a new Universal Social Order is not the ENEMY...

To intensify the power of inner truth, a man must always turn to his superior, from whom he can receive enlightenment as the moon receives light from the sun. However, this requires a certain humility, like that of the moon when it is not yet quite full.

At the moment when the moon becomes full and stands directly opposite the sun, it begins to wane. Just as on the one hand we must be humble and reverent when face to face with the source of enlightenment, so likewise must we on the other renounce factionalism among men. Only by pursuing one’s course like a horse that goes straight ahead without looking sideways at its mate, can one retain the inner freedom that helps one onward.

People on this Planet are experiencing a rapid increase in conflict and a tendency towards a seemingly rapid increase in wars .. violence and man killing man .. brother killing brother. The problem with this is that brothers kill many more women and children than they kill each other!

Many Incarnation(s)
Please excuse my strange approach to this problem of the whole Planet! Perhaps only small number of people should read what I am about to write? My own insight into the: Incarnate Cultural Wars On Earth!

Although I was born with a good heart and gentle nature .. I was also born with deep inner cultural issues. I was aware of those issues at a VERY early age! I will try to explain this as simply and as directly as possible.

The first thing I want to say is that from a very early age I also received Guidance from the so-called Invisible Worlds and from the Masters of the Spirit Worlds .. who I have to respectfully thank for my sanity and transformed state of mind/consciousness.

Having said that .. I Me ALONE .. had to do my own inner feet on the ground basic fundamental work/training. I was Guided by mysterious spiritual forces .. but THEY could not change me! I had to change myself! I had to do the inner work myself.. and nobody was going to do it for me. No one outside could change me .. only I could only change my inner self.

Inner Conflict
Those of you who know me and read my Blog and writings .. you know that I RARELY talk about myself. That is partly because I am very shy and also because I do not want to promote "myself". Also .. it is because higher levels of awareness have nothing to do with SELF [ego self]. Awareness / consciousness is like free flowing energy or sunlight .. it just is what it is.

From my own perspective I focused my energy / intelligence to build "the bridge" .. and do I have to show others how I built that bridge? I think not !! The same Invisible Guides bug me for many days to share this deeper information. I do not see the point of doing so.

The bottom line is this:
After I was born .. and from early age [3-4 years old] I was aware of an inner duality. Most of the time in my core essence I had a good and compassionate heart. I wanted to heal people. I recall healing people in past lives. I would complain to the Spirit Worlds .. why can I not instantly heal people who are suffering? That is another story *-)

There was another force inside me that was equally as strong [if not more so] than the love and compassion. I not only recalled and knew associated past lives .. but I knew the past life source of my own incarnate "cultural war" and experiences and hatred. I simply knew 400 to 600 years of the brutal destruction of my original culture and my experience fighting against this killing force.

On the surface I was a cute and loving small kid who cared for everyone in the deepest sense .. and yet much deeper was this incarnated ANGER akin to a male warrior [although I was born in this life as a female]. Maybe I can be grateful that I was born as a female [in this life] and not as a male.

Can the Feminine save the aggressive male? Who knows !!

The next issue I had is that I was born into a world where male and female are at war with each other on the most basic levels of existence. I watched my parents fight and argue .. and I thought WTF ?? Then .. as a child you have to TAKE SIDES #_# .. does this sound familiar?

When different cultures and nations fight wars .. you HAVE to TAKE SIDES...

When a child takes the side of the Father they are traitor to the Mother! When a child takes the side of the Mother they are a traitor to the Father! As you get older (in a family conflict) each side remembers the BETRAYAL !! Oh! You sided with your FATHER! Oh! You sided with your MOTHER.

What I am trying to say is that there is no difference between inner conflict .. family conflict .. regional conflict .. national conflict and world conflict [planetary conflicts]. I go back to Jiddu Krishnamurti: Discover the root of all conflict .. all conflicts have one origin .. one root!

Inner Conflict = Incarnate Cultural Wars On Earth
I am deeply grateful that I am aware and that I was born aware of inner past-life conflicts .. which saved my life .. my consciousness .. my spiritual life. If I had pursued the warrior side of my inner conflict it would have totally destroyed me.

Although I have to do the work alone .. and no one [not even Buddha] can do the work for me .. I am deeply grateful for the love and Guidance of the Invisible Worlds. We have to do the work .. but we also have to LISTEN !! Who knows? Maybe listening IS doing THE WORK.

Cultural violence and cultural conflict has a HISTORY

The world we know today is going to change .. and the dynamics we see influencing the Planet are going to change. These dynamics are not going to change over 300 .. 500 .. 1000 years gradually [slowly]. The dynamics are going to change IN AN INSTANT and that sudden change is going to affect the Earth over the next 300 .. 500 .. 1000++ years.

I have no desire to affect the WORLD .. I have no desire to CHANGE the world.

The world is what it is at any point in space-time. Later in ?? 1000-2000 years the tree of life will be 3D physical transformation / manifestation of one nano-instant transformation / change. As a result .. all I am saying to you is for you to RESOLVE your inner-incarnate conflicts. Do not let them fester like a BAD WOUND. Heal yourself .. transform yourself .. love yourself!

One small clue to incarnation .. when born into a conflict zone .. time and time again. I was born with all inter-cultural [male] awareness of deep conflict [sorrow/anger] and struggle within a certain area. I was aware and I could see all of it and I could feel all of the deeper sorrow and conflict = does conflict arise out of SORROW ??

What does the [healthy] male want to do? He wants to protect!

The healthy male psyche does not want to protect HIMSELF .. he want to protect his FAMILY .. his FRIENDS .. HIS CULTURE and their shared FUTURE. This is probably programmed into the healthy male consciousness. I am predicting a RADICAL and instantaneous transformation of the male consciousness beyond comprehension of the current Earth paradigm!

Work hard on yourself! As there will be no FREE RIDE into the FUTURE!

Pigs and fishes. Good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water. Perseverance furthers.

Pigs and fishes are the least intelligent of all animals and therefore the most difficult to influence. The force of inner truth must grow great indeed before its influence can extend to such creatures. In dealing with persons as intractable and as difficult to influence as a pig or a fish, the whole secret of success depends on finding the right way of approach.

One must first rid oneself of all prejudice and, so to speak, let the psyche of the other person act on one without restraint. Then one will establish contact with him, understand and gain power over him. When a door has thus been opened, the force of one’s personality will influence him. If in this way one finds no obstacles insurmountable, one can undertake even the most dangerous things, such as crossing the great water, and succeed.

19 Lin / Approach

The Chinese word lin has a range of meanings that is not exhausted by any single word of another language. The ancient explanations in the Book of Changes give as its first meaning, "becoming great."

What becomes great are the two strong lines growing into the hexagram from below; the light-giving power expands with them. The meaning is then further extended to include the concept of approach, especially the approach of what is strong and highly placed in relation to what is lower.

Finally the meaning includes the attitude of condescension of a man in high position toward the people, and in general the setting to work on affairs. This hexagram is linked with the twelfth month (January–February), when, after the winter solstice, the light power begins to ascend again.

The Mind Transforms
Between now [12.12.2012] and the Winter Solstice [21.12.2012] a window of transition opens where humans are affected by unseen energies - good and bad.

Our inherant natures are magnets to psychic energies similar in frequency to our thoughts. Being jealous or wishing people harm bring negative energies to bear upon ourselves.

Being of good mind and cultivating a good and balanced nature surrounds us with energies aligned with high spirits and good intentions. Our state of mind actively cooks the psychic energetic food we eat or absorb. How we use our mind is how we cook "our food".

If an animal dies a cruel death and we eat parts of that animal, we digest and absorb the fear. There is a lot of decay in the cruel death of an animal. But if we follow the rules of nature we would not harm animals in the way we do.

What comes around goes around...
What humans do to animals they do to themselves!

Between now and the Winter Solstice, energies of transition and transformation are criss-crossing the Earth. Enegetically, this is the beginning of a new era.

It is so strange that people are "afraid" of the ending of life on Earth in December 2012 .. because we just came though 2,000 years of the worst period .. the darkest period in terms of our SPIRIT and loss of humanity.

Humans just survived the "darkest period" / the "darkest hour". The real danger was the last 2,000 years of wars .. destruction of our planet .. destroying Native peoples to take over their land and resources. I mean! The darkest hour is behind us .. we have survived it...

If planetary tranformation is to be feared .. then I seriously need to immigrate back to the Pleiades. Life on Planet Earth is not ending .. it is beginning.

I Ching: Becoming Great
When times are hard and difficult .. always keep in mind that the dark leads to the light and the light leads to the dark. Hard becomes soft and soft becomes hard. The water in a river can freeze and become hard. The ice covering a river can melt and become soft.

Nothing lasts forever !!

To have a balanced mind, one simply pays attention and suspends judgement. One observes the nature of things and the movement of energy. Observing ones own nature .. one learns. Truth is not static, but it moves ahead like a bright lantern in deepest darkness.

Life is constantly changing... from our perspective.

Tonight, I saw the Constellation of Orion rising sideways into the night sky. I usually notice Orion when the stars are higher above in the night sky. It's all a matter of perspective. Where you stand - who you are - what you see.

When you seriously pay attention to the December 12 / December 21 transition .. then the sensitivity of awareness is like an inner psychic antenna for the energies forming in January-February 2013.

Your brain does not remember your experience in the womb before you are born .. because the experience is pure energy as the physical body is forming. Your womb experience was "spirit energy" .. it was not physical. This period of transition is the same.

Linear Though Is Afraid of Change
Why are some people around the world afraid of some kind of catastrophic ENDING ?? Some kind of Mayan Calendar catastrophe. When perhaps .. you personally are not afraid? It is ENERGY versus ego-thought!! Linear thought is afraid of change.

Like in the womb .. the human and planetary transition is energy. This is something we do not remember in terms of rational thinking or thought. It is not people who are "afraid" .. it is thought who is afraid.

Energy does not fear energy .. energy understands energy at any level .. at any frequency. Energy is not fear. Energy cannot experience fear. We are transitioning into the period/zone of energy .. which is SPIRIT.

If you have lower energy and higher energy .. this has nothing to do with fear. Thought - divided from spirit - creates fear. Oh! I am afraid of dying! I am afraid of ending! I am afraid of death!

Sure! Thought is afraid of ending = death .. because thought is limited and comes to an end in the same way physical life comes to an end when the life cycle is reached.

Love transforms the mind!

Two Levels of Being

Currently, there is a lot of crisis in our world .. turmoil .. and excitement energies created inside this vortex of upheaval. Our world is changing and a lot of people are frightened by these out-of-control changes.

One of the primary problems facing us are not the energies of "a world in chaos"; but we are the biggest problem facing ourselves. To understand this you have to look at Nature and try to understand the natural world that is all around you everywhere, every moment.

Our egos do not respect Nature. Human beings are slaves to the wants of their own ego self. We do not love the animals and trees and plants .. because we do not love ourselves. The ego is like a parasite feeding off the life energy, taking everything it can for the satisfaction of its own demands.

As the life energy drains away to feed all the selfish thoughts, fears, sorrows and desires .. the ordinary human is left EXHAUSTED.

47 K'un / Oppression (Exhaustion)

THE IMAGE
There is no water in the lake: The image of EXHAUSTION. Thus the superior man stakes his life On following his will.

When the water has flowed out below, the lake must dry up and become exhausted. That is fate. This symbolizes an adverse fate in human life. In such times there is nothing a man can do but acquiece in his fate and remain true to himself. This concerns the deepest stratum of his being, for this alone is superior to all external fate.

The Commentaries
The image derives from the relative positions of the two primary trigrams: water is under the lake, therefore drained off. The trigrams individually yield advice for conduct in the time of EXHAUSTION: K'an, abyss, danger, indicates stalking one's own life; Tui, joyousness, indicates following one's own will.

Two Levels of Being
Nothing was easy for me as a child. I had to face a lot of hardship and not survive the hardship - but TRANSFORM IT. In order to transform difficult and opposing energies, one has to move beyond the petty demands the ego makes on the mind.

The most important factor in my life, facing any hardship, is that I knew that any difficulty was like an unseen energy of Initiation that was teaching me and showing me The Way.

My teachers were invisible beings who appeared inside the canopy of Nature .. their Cosmic Internet. They were like tall beings of light, wearing flowing energy robes like wise beings from Ancient Greece.

They never made things easy for me...

For two thousands years the ego has been destroying Nature, cutting down the forests and ancient trees .. destroying natural habitat .. all out of FEAR. If people connect to the higher mind the ego dies = comes to an end.

The way the ego exhausts the energy of human beings is to create never-ending sorrows, suffering, enslavement to the self with all the external toys, wealth, status and gratification.

The most important factor of the ego-self is SURVIVAL.

Rather than co-create the future .. we lose ourselves in "surviving" .. struggling .. fighting .. looking for an advantage .. like we are playing some kind of chess game with our lives.

Our energies are so caught up in selfish behaviour that we do not have the energy to listen to or connect with the Invisible Worlds .. because it is very hard and there are no easy options .. when face with truth. That is the Second Level of being .. the world of higher energies.

The Commentary above: 47 K'un / Oppression (Exhaustion) .. gives a clue to how one discovers a way through a time of EXHAUSTION. When the lake drains away all that one is left with is oneself.

All material actions are finite .. they are limited .. they have an end point. Exhaustion of the ego was inevitable. The movement that created the ego has an end, which is part of the law of Nature.

We have relied too much on our greed for the material.

Ego self feeds from the destruction of the material world. It is totally insane. At the same time the law of Nature does not allow the ego to live beyond its own end-point. The energy is limited and does not renew itself.

The Biggest crisis
The biggest crisis facing mankind is coming to the end of a limited self-serving energy based on destruction and exploitation of the natural world. The draining away of a lower sub-psychic energy. Another way of putting this is: To lose one's mind.

It is the wrong question to ask: How do I go beyond thought? One has to be aware where the life energy goes and understand the various paths of one's own nature. It is not a question of thought; but it is a question of the flow of energy and silent observation.

Jiddu Krishnamurti once asked, talking about fear: "Why do you never fear THOUGHT?" Thought / ego is the most dangerous thing known to man.

When The Weak Influence The Strong

31. Hsien / Influence (Wooing)
Nine in the third place:
Every mood of the heart influences us to movement. What the heart desires, the thighs run after without a moment's hesitation; they hold to the heart, which they follow. In the life of a man, however, acting on the spur of every caprice is wrong and if continued leads to humiliation.

Three considerations suggest themselves here. First, a man should not run precipitately after all the persons whom he would like to influence, but must be able to hold back under certain circumstances. As little should he yield immediately to every whim of those in whose service he stands.

Finally, where the moods of his own heart are concerned, he should never ignore the possibility of inhibition, for this is the basis of human freedom.

The Commentaries: Nine in the third place
"The influence shows itself in the thighs." For he cannot keep still.
When the will is directed to things that one's followers hold to, this is very base.

Since the two lower lines are weak by nature, it is not surprising that they let themselves be influenced by others. But this strong line could easily master itself and not yield to every stimulus from below. It makes itself contemptible by conforming to the aims of the two lower lines, its followers.

The Hexagram, in this reading indicates a man in a strong position who is weak and whose 'supporters' are weak, leading to danger of moral weakness and degeneration.

Lack of self-composure is not only related to single personal acts of uncontrolled behaviour. The situation is far reaching and is related to all courts of INFLUENCE and does not rest solely on one 'event'.

31. Hsien: Influence is related to all aspects of relationship between male and female, husband and wife, father and son, prince and servitor, superior and inferior. The I Ching is not talking about judgement; but of the difference in force, energy and balance.

In the universe and in all things there is a constant and living flux between force, magnetism, curves in space, growth and decay. The gravity of a black hole is different than the gravity of the Sun or the gravity of the Earth; but they all interact. In terms of the I Ching 'superior' and 'inferior' forces have a totally different meaning than people understand them today.

For example, if China studies and applies the principles of the I Ching: The Book of Changes, that would be viewed as taking a 'superior' position. Yet, this is not an intellectual judgement!

The man who is carelessly thrown this way and that by every influence he encounters is viewed as 'weak' or 'inferior'. His relationship to outer forces is a sign of his inner state - of his inner Chi/Qi .. meaning the one who is thrown around by outer influences has (inwardly) weakened Qi (loss of gravity).

Consider again the position of a weak man in a position of influence whose followers (supporters) are weak. Nothing on this Earth or in this Universe exists in isolation without influence of inner and outer forces. Everything is in a state of relationship. Everything is in a state of flux.

Inside this reading of the I Ching 31. Hsien / Influence, all aspects of relationship of these particular forces (in or out of balance) have contributed and are contributing to current events. Learn, not to look at the event; but look at the energy contained in the event and understand its nature.

Small Is Great & Great Is Small

A recent article in The Register reads: LastFM Oopsed over by Apple .. and they go on to discuss the 30 percent subscription tax Apple are levying on content producers. However, this is not new news... Apple also levy a 30 percent sort of 'tax' on publishers selling their books though their electronic market place. Their 30 percent is more than the producer/creators share of the content that the creators created and the producers produced...

Why would any of this come as a shock? Why would people be so surprised? We live in a mega-gross, mega-rich, mega-size, mega-hungry too-big-to-survive corporate system. Even India and China [who should know better due to thousands of years of Sun Tzu and high culture], even they are drowning in the illusion of bigger profits from bigger corporations. I call it 'greed', Taoists would call it 'out-of-balance'.

To understand what I am talking about, look at nature. Go look at an oak tree or a beech tree - find a big tree .. how about a Sequoia? All of nature and all trees, mountains, lakes, oceans, flowers and volcanoes grow in proportion.

You might ask, "In proportion to what?"

That is simple to observe... If a giant volcano became even more giant it would destroy the world and if a colony of dandelions grew as high as mountains or if a sun flare grew as big as the Solar System... that is a basic way to understand 'proportions'.

For example, mankind in most activities grows and lives outside his and the Earth's proportions. Humans are greedy and so we fish the oceans dry, we cannot have enough of what we have, we always have to have more... and this is one example of out-of-proportion growth.

In today's corporate climate bigger is plus and smaller is minus. You don't want to go to smaller, you want to go to bigger. The problem is bigger than bigger is 'out-of-proportion' to nature's laws.

The cancer tumor is equal to its growth [a subtle piece of Zen that takes some thinking about]. Imagine a Dinosaur - the biggest that there is - and double its size every four months. There you have your 'corporations' and their appetite for greed.

The reality is, a big crash is coming equal to the size of the monster created. Human behaviour seems to be immune to the laws of nature; but we are not immune. The same laws apply and living according to those laws creates wealth (balanced wealth), good fortune and well-being. Disobey those laws and the monster you create will, at some point, collapse on you.

Small Is Great & Great Is Small
When I was a child I had an experience where my mind entered the universe on its own (as mind's are probably supposed to do). In the universe big was small and small was big. This is classic Zen .. the most distant largest planets were magnified but small, and the smallest particles were far away and bigger than the planets.

If human beings could understand or experience this truth then they would not break the laws of nature; but they would co-operate with these laws and would prosper, in a state of well-being and good health. That which is small is great and that which is great is small.

Our collective insanity to grow ever larger and to prosper ever more, to increase and never decrease and to expand and never contract is leading to 'disaster'.

Balance would be when the people in Egypt create, develop and produce their own technology. Balance would be when small is beautiful .. where the people in China, Indonesia and India create and produce their own technology for the local community rather than rely on a too-big-to-survive technology tumor spreading across the face of the Earth.

I see a future where local 'technology' creations are as unique and as beautiful as hand forged Japanese knives or Japanese blades. I see a time coming where local technology groups create and produce regional Japanese blade technologies .. collectors items .. and not this mass produce crap people know today. Technology can be created and recycled locally, where the work benefits the local community.

The I-Ching
If I was a regional leader today or a corporate personality .. I would be reading and studying the I-Ching as a way to lead the raging waters of humanity back into balance. I would not be creating too-big-to-fail mega corporations. I would not be pushing against the laws of nature. I would be seeking to understand that the laws of nature have VALUE and that so-called 'restrictions' are really INTELLIGENT GROWTH.

I was a kid, still at school, when I began to study the I-Ching. I did not totally understand it - but I 'understood' it without knowing how. I would read the I-Ching because I could not figure it out. I now realise that studying the I-Ching is like drinking water.

You drink water and you do not know or understand how it affects you; but this lack of understanding does not stop you drinking water. Drinking the water makes you feel good. You do not understand why it makes you feel good - but you keep drinking.

That is called: The Balance of Nature ...
