Will Marijuana Save California?

Legalise it - grow it - tax it... Will California's green gold save the state from it's financial woes? The people of Oakland California sure think so. California faces a massive budget crisis and politicians see the marijuana tax as a way to raise revenue. The voters obviously agree with them.

Residents of Oakland California made the first step in approving State taxation for Marijuana. Supporting the move over 80 percent of voters backed proposals for a tax on medical Marijuana. Los Angeles City Council proposed a medical marijuana tax earlier this month, and the cities of Berkeley and San Francisco may consider similar legislation.

Proponents of legalizing Marijuana have argued that alcohol is a "legal drug" whose unrestricted use and abuse cause premature deaths, disease and injuries. Today, 1 in 25 deaths can be attributed to alcohol. Similarly, deaths from smoking tobacco are also a cause for argument with chronic disease and 1 in 5 deaths now related to smoking cigarettes.

Can Marijuana heal the world?
The difference between Hemp/Marijuana, tobacco and alcohol is that "The Leaf" is a medicine, not a drug. This may be why drug companies are afraid of it. The healing compounds in the leaf are for free, you cannot register a patent on those compounds. Most of the healing power in Marijuana has not been researched, due to the plants "demonic status" worldwide.

However, evidence is growing that Medical Cannabis can and does heal a wide variety of ailments, relieving pain or even reducing tumour growth in lung cancer. Where most "social drugs" such as alcohol, heroin, cocaine and nicotine suppress the growth of new brain cells, a Canadian study shows Marijuana promotes neuron growth.

Cannabis, also known as marijuana and ganja (from Sanskrit: गांजा gañjā, hemp), refers to any number of preparations of psychoactive drug from the Cannabis plant. [Wiki].

Archaeologists agree that cannabis was among the first crops purposely cultivated by human beings at least over 6,000 years ago, and perhaps more than 12,000 years ago. Canvas is derived from "cannabis", the Latin word for "marijuana." Benjamin Franklin started one of America's first paper mills with cannabis, allowing a colonial press free from English control. In 1942 The U.S. Government distributed 400,000 pounds of cannabis seeds to American farmers in 1942 to aid the war effort. The History of Marijuana

It seems that each time mankind is in trouble Marijuana comes to the rescue...

Alcohol Is Good For You Industry

Alcohol’s Good for You? Some Scientists Doubt It

Roni Caryn Rabin June 15, 2009 - By now, it is a familiar litany. Study after study suggests that alcohol in moderation may promote heart health and even ward off diabetes and dementia. The evidence is so plentiful that some experts consider moderate drinking — about one drink a day for women, about two for men — a central component of a healthy lifestyle.

The Abstainers
Researchers have reported that light drinkers are less likely than abstainers to develop diabetes, and that those with Type 2 diabetes who drink lightly are less likely to develop coronary heart disease.

But the studies comparing moderate drinkers with abstainers have come under fire in recent years. Critics ask: Who are these abstainers? Why do they avoid alcohol? Is there something that makes them more susceptible to heart disease?

Some researchers suspect the abstainer group may include “sick quitters,” people who stopped drinking because they already had heart disease. People also tend to cut down on drinking as they age, which would make the average abstainer older — and presumably more susceptible to disease — than the average light drinker.

Industry Grants
In 2006, shortly after Dr. Fillmore and her colleagues published a critical analysis saying a vast majority of the alcohol studies they reviewed were flawed, Dr. R. Curtis Ellison, a Boston University physician who has championed the benefits of alcohol, hosted a conference on the subject. A summary of the conference, published a year later, said scientists had reached a “consensus” that moderate drinking “has been shown to have predominantly beneficial effects on health.”

The meeting, like much of Dr. Ellison’s work, was partly financed by industry grants. And the summary was written by him and Marjana Martinic, a senior vice president for the International Center for Alcohol Policies, a nonprofit group supported by the industry. The center paid for tens of thousands of copies of the summary, which were included as free inserts in two medical journals, The American Journal of Medicine and The American Journal of Cardiology.

In an interview, Dr. Ellison said his relationship with the industry did not influence his work, adding, “No one would look at our critiques if we didn’t present a balanced view.” Read full article - New York Times

Would Moderate Drinking Bankrupt The Industry?

Deadly Persuasion:
7 Myths Alcohol Advertisers Want You to Believe

"Absolut Magic" proclaims a print ad for a popular vodka. "Paradise found," headlines another. "Fairy tales can come true" says a third.

All these ads illustrate the major premise of alcohol advertising's mythology: Alcohol is magic, a magic carpet that can take you away. It can make you successful, sophisticated, sexy. Without it, your life would be dull, mediocre and ordinary.

Everyone wants to believe in happy endings. But as most of us know, the reality of alcohol for many people in our society is more like a horror story than a fairy tale. The liquid in the glass is definitely not a magic potion.

We are surrounded by the message that alcohol is fun, sexy, desirable and harmless. We get this message many times a day. We get it from the ads and, far more insidiously, we get it from the media, which depend upon alcohol advertising for a large share of their profits. Thanks to this connection, alcohol use tends to be glorified throughout the media and alcohol-related problems are routinely dismissed.

Alcohol is related to parties, good times, celebrations and fun, but it is also related to murder, suicide, unemployment and child abuse. These connections are never made in the ads. Of course, one would not expect them to be. The advertisers are selling their product and it is their job to erase any negative aspects as well as to enhance the positive ones. However, when the product is the nation's number one drug, there are consequences that go far beyond product sales.

Most people know that alcohol can cause problems. But how many realize that 10 percent of all deaths in the United States - including half of all homicides and at least one quarter of all suicides - are related to alcohol? The economic cost to the nation exceeds $100 billion a year. At least 13,000,000 Americans, about one out of 10, are alcoholic - the personal cost to them and their families is incalculable.

The tab for alcohol use doesn't end there. More than $2 billion a year - a sizable chunk of the over $90 billion the industry takes in annually - goes to prime the advertising and promotion pump and keep drinkers' money flowing freely. Problem drinkers and young people are the primary targets of these advertisers.

Of course, industry spokespeople disagree with this claim. Over and over again, their public statements assert that they are not trying to create new or heavier drinkers. Instead, they say they only want people who already drink to switch to another brand and to drink it in moderation. However, the most basic analysis of alcohol advertising reveals an emphasis on both recruiting new, young users and pushing heavy consumption of their products.

Moderate Drinking = Economic Failure.
Indeed, advertising that encouraged only moderate drinking would be an economic failure. This becomes clear when you know that only 10 percent of the drinking-age population consumes over half of all alcoholic beverages sold. According to Robert Hammond, director of the Alcohol Research Information Service, if all 105 million drinkers of legal age consumed the official maximum "moderate" amount of alcohol - .99 ounces per day, the equivalent of about two drinks - the industry would suffer "a whopping 40 percent decrease in the sale of beer, wine and distilled spirits." Earthquake Shakes Germany After Eclipse

On July 24, 2009 the IRIS Sesimc Monitor (Europe) shows that a 4.1 earthquake shook Northern Germany. The Earthquake is reported in more detail by USGS Europe Region:

Magnitude 4.1 Friday, July 24, 2009 at 02:58:06 UTC
Friday, July 24, 2009 at 04:58:06 AM at epicenter - Region Germany
epicenter - 20 km (15 miles) NW of Duisburg, Germany

I cannot see this reported anywhere other than in small regional sites, reporting a 3.1 earthquake, another quotes 3.8 frequency. The Swiss Red Puma earthquake site have listed the 24 July earthquake in Turkey but not the earthquake in North Germany.

The Neodymium Wars

The smallest things in life can often have the biggest impact on the world. The Neodym wars are happening now, unseen, undetected hardly noticed by the masses who depend on this mineral for their hi-tech existence. As well hidden as an underground base with secret entrances, the Neodymium mineral [Nd] is at the heart of all our future woes...

Sound too dramatic?

Neodymium is a rare metal whose production is essential to the future of all hi-tech nations. China produces 97 percent of the world's output of Neodymium - an essential component of hi-tech industries. In 2007 China began cutting back its exports exports, as they want to develop their own permanent magnet industry. As a result Neodymium prices increased from 7 U.S. dollars a kilo to 60 dollars a kilo, during that time.

Neodymium today generates more than 25% of the gross revenues from all rare earth dependent end-use products being manufactured. It is projected that by 2014 this figure will be at least 50%. Economically then it is clearly the most valuable and the most important rare earth metal. Ninja Neodymium Investors

When you talk about "clean energy" you talk about Neodymium oxide and high powered Neodym magnets: "Neodymium magnets have a magnetic force nine times stronger than conventional magnets." Business Mirror

At the momment China supplies most of the world’s Neodymium oxide - a necessary component in Prius motors and wind turbines. Although, it is the second most common rare earth element within the earth’s crust, China currently dominates the production and the supply of magnets.

If the technological world would switch from oil to batteries dependent on Neodymium oxide? How realistic is this? Pumping oil is one thing, you can pump it into barrels, but mining is another matter. Its another dependence industry all the way down the line. I do not see this kind of manufacture as the answer to the world's energy problems...

Clean Energies Dirty Little Secret - Mountain Pass’s mine contains a rare-earth ore that yields neodymium, the pixie dust of green tech—necessary for the lightweight permanent magnets that make Prius motors zoom and for the generators that give wind turbines their electrical buzz. In fact, if we are going to make even a few million of the hybrid and electric cars that are supposed to help rescue the planet from global warming, we will need to double production of neodymium in short order.

This form of technology keeps us dependent on a central-energy-supplier, rather than have the energy being generated from within the system. Intelligence would innovate and develop a closed power unit. At present we use open power units: power (energy) has to be injected and stored, and through use the energy goes out and is lost. The dependence system is add energy, use it and lose it - go back to the supplier for more.

With a closed energy system, you would generate the power from within the unit and there would be no loss. It would be self-perpetuating. One would not rely on an open system of creator/supplier and loss (creating demand). These are not current technical terms, they are terms I am using to describe another type of energy regeneration within a self-perpetuating unit.

The whole dependence system being set up around the mining, manufacture and supply of Neodymium oxide could lead to conflict(s), power struggle(s), supply problems, technological insecurity. It just sounds like a very heavy process to go through to create "clean energy"...

Solar Eclipse Frequency-Oscillation Anomalies

I had noticed in 1999 how the August 11 Total Solar Eclipse triggered heavy dark dense rain cloud formations, powerful thunder storms and torrential downpours. These Solar powered swirling watery effects continue around the globe for months, if not years. I imagine that Lunar and Solar Eclipses electrically seed weather patterns, rainfall patterns, flooding, and probably effects lava flow within the earth's crust, as well as earthquakes due to the push and pull of water. I do not see the effects as destructive, but regenerative. If we don't have rain we don't have water - very important to life on earth.

It is the same with the July 22, 2009 Total Solar Eclipse. Dark heavy clouds, sudden downpours, while the moon and the sun continue to exert pull on the earth for many weeks as the orbits

Floods in Mongolia, the worst in decades, 22 July 2009. A serious mudslide in Japan after extreme torrential downpour, 23 July 2009. Landslide creates lake in south-west China's Sichuan province, 23 July 2009. This is the same area in south-west China that experienced the devastating May 12, 2008 earthquake.

*Update 24 July, 2009: Heavy rains continue in Japan, with flash floods and landslides. In Europe heavy storms and torrential rain cause flooding chaos. Powerful storms cross Poland, Czech Republic and Southern Germany, with areas experiencing 100 km an hour winds - sweeping roofs from houses and uprooting trees. Across Spain and France, giant waves and winds up to 150 kmph batter the Atlantic coast, uprooting trees and collapsing walls. Northern Spain recorded 20 meter high waves.

It occurred to me that Solar and Lunar Eclipses form magnetic vortices and standing wave turbulence, which can lead to changes in frequency oscillations in matter. No, I am not a physicist, I simply have a good imagination...

A seiche (pronounced /ˈseɪʃ/ "saysh") is a standing wave in an enclosed or partially enclosed body of water. Seiches and seiche-related phenomena have been observed on lakes, reservoirs, swimming pools, bays and seas. The key requirement for formation of a seiche is that the body of water be at least partially bounded, allowing the formation of the standing wave. The term was promoted by the Swiss hydrologist François-Alphonse Forel in 1890, who was the first to make scientific observations of the effect in Lake Geneva, Switzerland. The word originates in a Swiss French dialect word that means "to sway back and forth", which had apparently long been used in the region to describe oscillations in alpine lakes.

If the turbulence and change of frequency in magnetic field oscillations would effect the weather, increasing heavy downpours in certain areas - it is not the flooding alone that causes dramatic landscape changes. Unseen and unrecorded standing wave oscillations in parts of the earth's magnetic field would also lead to the sudden collapse of matter. These are maybe stress points. The effect would converge on that point, taking the stress in the variation of frequency oscillations resulting in a landslide, or dramatic changes in landscape.

I am sure that steady wave oscillations are behind the apparently fixed physical structures on the surface of the planet. Including ourselves, and that we all depend on a certain frequency spectrum to exist and function. Lunar and Solar Eclipses shake all that up, activating powerful magnetic and electrical field shifts.

This is an early account of an Island disappearing after the appearance of A large river tsunami or seiche produced upriver in the New Madrid bend area, in an historical account of the New Madrid Earthquake of 1811/1812: "The island had disappeared; and it was the disintegrated fragments sweeping down the river, that had struck the vessel from time to time and caused the noises that Mrs. Roosevelt had been disturbed by."

Transformative Energies - Solar Eclipse 2009

The 2009 Total Solar Eclipse began 23:58 UTC/GMT (July 21st) and ended at 04:18 (July 22) UTC/GMT, crossing India, Nepal, Burma, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, Japan, moving out across the Pacific Ocean.

The moon is traditionally associated with moods, feelings, psyche and emotions. Effecting tides and lava flows, the moon is also part of breeding cycles, influencing the behaviour of fish and amphibians as well as effecting the growth of plants,

The effect of the phases of the moon on seed germination and growth was first studied by L. Kolisko in 1930. Using wheat, Kolisko found that seeds germinated faster and more prolifically when sown at the full moon. The new moon gave him the most unsuccessful results. Later experiments on cress confirmed Kolisko's findings. Recent studies at Northwestern University, conducted by Professor F. Brown, have shown that, even under equal temperatures, seedlings absorb more water at the full moon than at the new moon. The findings lend credibility to adages that recommend harvesting at full moon. It seems plants have less water content at the new moon phase. Planting Moon Phases

I could feel the effects of the Solar Eclipse (here in Europe) two hours before it began to cross Central Asia. At Midnight little birds were talking to the night sky, like they were restless. The Eclipse was amazing. The energy surrounding the Solar Eclipse was very powerful, and we shall be feeling its effects in the coming weeks as the pull influences our electrical weather system and alters the magnetic field of the earth. There is a lot of water in the air.

The rational-linear mind reports that people were disappointed they did not see the actual Eclipse because of heavy cloud cover as the Moon crossed the face of the Sun. I can't believe people are so dense. One hour before an Eclipse until one hour after its end, one can feel the effect. The atmosphere is much more intense, eclipsing light and the visual senses. When there is cloud cover, the feeling is even more powerful - even more incredible.

On August 11, 1999 Europe experienced a Total Solar Eclipse. At the time there was pretty dense cloud cover. We saw some ghostly appearance of the actual visual Eclipse through breaks in the cloud, but this was nothing to the feeling. All around, in the trees, the birds began to sing and did not stop. You did not see the dimming of the light, you felt it. The energy of the Eclipse activated an older part of the mind and the senses.

Cloud cover during an Eclipse takes nothing away from the awesome experience. It is life-changing and it changed my life. In fact, cloud cover leaves no distraction, no escape from the incredible energy and other world presence that seems to fill every particle and every space.

Trees and plants go silent, and a stillness creates a sense of listening that suddenly all life forms share in one space. You don't have to see the Eclipse, you are part of it. The water in the air and clouds seem to amplify the strange energy. After that I think it rained as I had never seen it rain before. On August 17, 1999 a 7.6 Magnitude Earthquake hit Izmit, Turkey.

The big Earthquakes of 1999 all took place after the August 11 Solar Eclipse, killing over 20,000 people worldwide. This is probably why human cultures across the centuries viewed Solar Eclipses as a bad omen. Between August 23 and October 16, four Earthquakes above Magnitude 7.0 had rattled the tectonic plates of the Earth.

With the 2009 Lunar Eclipse on July 7, the Solar Eclipse on July 22 and the Lunar Eclipse on August 6 the Earth will experience three Eclipses in one Lunar Month.

Astronomers Synodic Month is the period of time between one new or full moon to the next. The Saros cycle is an eclipse cycle with a period of about 18 years 11 days 8 hours (approximately 6585 days) that can be used to predict eclipses of the Sun and Moon. One cycle after an eclipse, the Sun, Earth, and Moon return to approximately the same relative geometry, and a nearly identical eclipse will occur west of the original location.

Invisible Worlds of Our Ancestors

Crop Circle
As a young child I saw in dreams the troubled times we now live in. In these dreams I saw another world presence, totally shut out of the lives of people on this planet. In some ways, this pictured Crop Circle drawn onto the fields of Wiltshire, represents the merging of realities and the emerging missing piece!

Late July Crop Circle Martinsell Hill,
copyright Olivier Morel (WCCSG)

The invisible worlds were visible to our ancestors...

There are two factors here that one has to be aware of. When you can see that which is hidden, you can be aware of influence, manipulation and deception. That is the negative aspect of hidden forces. Our ancestors would defeat those influences from within. They built up psychic/spirit immune system by embodying frequencies of integrity, honesty and courage. You do not lie, cheat and deceive people. You do not lie to yourself. This is very important to the time we are now entering.

We are going to see extremes of behaviour ranging from heroic to the lowest form of corruption and selfishness. Entering our world, unseen by most of the people on the earth, the "feminine" force is altering the background frequency that holds our physical reality together.

In the dreams I had as a child I was shown that it would be this unseen mystical force that would trigger the falling apart of everything corrupt. It would destroy the network of lies and deceptions. This heavy-lead-male force inhabiting the planet cannot not hold itself together inside something so fragile, so pure and innocent.

We are moving out of an age defined by "father and son" and we are moving into an age defined by "mother and child". These are only archetypes or templates upon which physical matter organises its dominant reality. Therefore, mother (the womb) and child (birth) encompasses the birth of male and female in balance, as well as sharing, and nurturing that which is growing.

The feminine does not mean women - as there are currently many women who exhibit extreme heavy-lead-male attributes, and there are many men who exhibit gentle, caring, nurturing feminine attributes. There can be a woman's body and inside is a man. You can have a man's body and inside there is a woman.

The one thing we lost over the past 12,000 years is the True Male Force, in balance, in a state of love and respect for himself, for women and children, for animals, respect for the oceans and for the planet he lives on. The male shares this planet with many other life forms, and these life forms are part of him.

We lost the inwardly integrated male force in balance with himself and in balance with the earth. This new era is part of nurturing and growing that inwardly balanced male plant on the planet in this coming time.

The problems we face add up to total exhaustion and degradation of the physical environment, heading to a total collapse by 2050. Some of the fastest growing populations will face severe water shortages, loss of healthy natural habitat, increasing periods of drought, unexpected storms and devastating floods.

If you imagine a family where half are made of spirit (light) and half are made of dense physical matter. Where all parts of this family live (in spirit) beyond time and beyond space. There are times when some of the family live in physical matter, where they experience life on planets in a universe of stars. What separated them from seeing each other?

Invisible Worlds of Our Ancestors
There were psychic wars on earth many ages ago. During those wars people turned on each other. There was a great madness where family turned on each other, and friends turned on each other. This bond in the negative got real vicious and there was a lot of resentment and jealousy. There was a big struggle for power on earth. Everything got fragmented and balance was destroyed.

In this time the bridge between the physical worlds and the spirit worlds was open, and people could easily cross between the dense physical world into the lighter spirit world and back. People (then) knew that the two worlds existed side by side and were very close.

The fighting between the earth people caused a lot of shaking across the bridge connecting the physical worlds and the spirit worlds. The wars that were building began to upset the people of spirit. So a greater force stepped in and shut the door between the two worlds, and this force told all people to sort it out for themselves. That no one was going to come in and stop them fighting, so if they wanted to destroy each other then, go ahead... Only they would not be allowed to destroy the earth. If the people on earth crossed a certain line then they would be destroyed and all would be peace again (without them).

If your heart is true and you look across that broken bridge, you can still see your true spirit looking back at you... and if you listen with your heart you can hear that spirit voice and understand its guidance.

Animals Use Plants To Kill Parasites & Bacteria

Self-medication - animals know how to use Nature's pharmacy... can humans do it too? I am not saying that humans are intelligent enough to self-medicate, it is not something I would advise! It seems animals are intelligent enough to know which medicinal plants and herbs to eat so they stay healthy.

Not only monkeys, but bears and insects consume plants, bark and herbs that have apparently little or no food value. Researchers have discovered that the medicine plants animals have been observed to eat, have been found to contain compounds that kill parasites and eliminate bacteria and fungus...

Chimps Eat Herbs To Cure Maleria
Researchers at Kibale National Park have discovered that chimps eat plants similar to the ones used by traditional healers to treat malaria and diarrhoea.

"The chimps and human beings around Kibale use similar plants to overcome sickness," Sabrina Kreif, a researcher, said. She was speaking at Makerere University's Faculty of Science at a ceremony to launch a memorandum of cooperation between Uganda Wildlife Authority and French institutions.

In her five-year study at Kanyawara research station, located on the edge of Kibale, Krief found that chimps carefully select and consume plants like mululuza, which have little nutritive value.

These plants, however, have medical properties that help the chimps to overcome malaria and diarrhoea, as well as to expel worms from their intestines, Krief said. Her research included collecting and analysing chimp dung and urine.

"I had to examine the dung to find out the plants in their diet and then extract the active components," she said.

She also monitored the behaviour of the chimps to find out if there was any improvement each time sick chimps ate the plants. She also found that traditional healers in the area use the same plants.

In some cases, the chimps ate the bark of certain trees, which helped them to overcome parasites that cause diarrhoea.

"It was stunning to see that the traditional healers use the same plants to treat the diseases," she said. "The studies on great apes, which are the closest relatives to humans, will help us to discover plants with medicinal properties."

Healing Herbs: In Uganda, chimpanzees swallow leaves of Rubia cordifolia, a plant deemed so dandy for easing stomach ailments that local villagers cultivate it in home gardens. Ugandan chimps also carefully select and chew young leaves of a particular species of fig tree. Tests by phytochemist Rodriguez reveal that the fig leaves contain 5- methoxypsoralen, an antibiotic compound that kills nematodes, or wormlike parasites. Read More...

The term Zoopharmacognosy refers to the process by which animals self-medicate, by selecting and using plants, soils, and insects to treat and prevent disease. Coined by Dr. Eloy Rodriguez, a biochemist and professor at Cornell University, the word is derived from roots zoo ("animal"), pharma ("drug"), and gnosy ("knowing").

'- ) Just break it up to understand it: Zoo - pharma-cognosy

Nature's Pharmacy Used by Animals - Self-medicating behavior is a topic of rapidly growing interest to behaviorists, parasitologists, ethnobotanists, chemical ecologists, conservationists, and physicians. Scientists from various disciplines are currently exploring the possibility that many species use plants, soils, insects, and fungi as 'medicines' in ways that guard against future illness...

Blame It On El Nino

If you look into this and research "El Nino", things could get confusing and not make much sense. Which, maybe is the way it is supposed to go. Human beings on this planet do not pay attention to their surroundings and the weather. Therefore, people rely on being told what the problem is by "experts", when a problem arises.

Today, July 13, the problem is/will be El Nino. It's going to cause drought! No flooding! Sorry! There will be stronger Mid-Atlantic storms. No! Less storms! Sorry! They said "weakening" (maybe). It's hard to tell... We have to watch and keep watching.

Hey! Maybe this psi-media push (a take on sci-fi/science fiction) is all just a big distraction from people figuring out that something is not right with the earth, temperatures, with local and national weather... and that climate change is a magnetic phenomenon. Maybe El Nino is an indicator for Magnetic flux, in the sun - effecting planets in the Solar System... Sorry! I got carried away there...

If you are an idiot like me you will want to find out for yourself what this powerful mysterious El Nino manipulator of our stable/friendly weather is... The scientific community agree to disagree on this lurking in the oceans climatic-monster. It reminds me of stories where the dragon attacks a village every-so-often, but no one in the village knows when the dragon will appear (again).

Our psi-experts in the real world agree that El Nino appears - warming the surface waters of the Pacific Ocean - every 3 to 7 years. No! Changes appear every 3 to 6 years... " Sorry, El Nino appears every 2 to 5 years. It's confusing, because it appears when it wants to, but that is not scientific and so lets agree on all those appearances for the sake of science !!

The Phenomenon
The next thing to note is that El Nino is widely described by the scientific community as A PHENOMENON !! Wow! They use that word? Yes, they sure do. El Nino is a phenomenon... Maybe that word alone explains why it appears (like the dragon in the story books) every 3 to 7 - no 3 to 8 - no wait, every 2 to 5 years... Maybe the story book dragon was based on El Nino.

A phenomenon means: something that appears, and can be perceived by the senses but it is unusual. It appears and you have to deal with it... it's a phenomenon! We can't explain it, but it is there '- ). The media appear confused about what the predictions are: "Weather Forecasters Warn of Drought Risk" -or- "Drought Relief May Be On The Way"... "El Nino Forms In Pacific: May Limit Atlantic Storms" -or- "New Type of El Nino Could Mean More Hurricanes Make Landfall"...

It is obvious that El Nino can be confusing to the casual viewer, and now we have a new type of El Nino to confuse us even more... So, what is this new type of El Nino? Why is it there? Who knows that is it new?

The new version of El Nino is: El Nino Modoki... Are you still with me? Today's Pscientists claim that it is similar but different. I did not make this up '- ) The new version of El Nino is called: "El Nino Modoki, which in Japanese means similar, but different." AccuWeather

That is easy to understand: A crow is similar to an eagle, but different. The Earth is similar to Mars, but different. A woman is similar to a man, but different. It's not too technical.

In Gaelic this translates to mean: "Ainm atá chomh gar dó i gcosúlacht gur dóigh dó a bheith ina thrúig meabhail nó ina chúis mearbhaill." - A name so nearly resembling another as to be likely to deceive or cause confusion.

If you want to appear intelligent you have to agree with the majority opinion that the Emperor has clothes even when he appears naked. Therefore everyone's talking point this year will be that El Nino is causing climate abnormalities between now and 2010. Some researchers disagree...

Hey! But let's get serious! What media outlet is going to try and read: "There is a correlation between Solar Sun spot cycles and El Niño events. Every year following a minimum number of solar sun spots is an el niño year. The el niño events also happen at other times in between these 11 year cycles, but every solar minimum is associated with an el niño event. Since the el niño event happens on the average about every 6 years the sun spots predict about half of them." A Correlation Between Sun Spot Cycles and El Niño

We just experienced a Deep Solar Minimum and now we see an El Nino forming...

My own question is... What changes air and ocean current flow, what influences ocean temperatures, precipitation, cloud formation, climate variations? Is El Nino a physical observable phenomenon indicating an unseen, unobservable background variation in the earth's magnetic field? Are we chasing observable shadows, and not understanding the dynamics behind our environment and our planet?

Deep Solar Minimum

In 2008 there were no sunspots observed on 266 of the year's 366 days. Sun spot counts for 2009 dropped even lower, on average. By March 2009 there had been no sunspots on 78 of the 90 days. Science Daily

"This is the quietest sun we've seen in almost a century," agrees sunspot expert David Hathaway of the Marshall Space Flight Center. Measurements by the Ulysses spacecraft reveal a 20% drop in solar wind pressure since the mid-1990s—the lowest point since such measurements began in the 1960s. A 12-year low in solar "irradiance": Careful measurements by several NASA spacecraft show that the sun's brightness has dropped by 0.02% at visible wavelengths and 6% at extreme UV wavelengths since the solar minimum of 1996. Deep Solar Minimum

The Little Ice Age was a period of cooling occurring after a warmer North Atlantic era known as the Medieval Warm Period. Among the earliest references to the climate change is an entry in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicles dated 1046: "And in this same year after the 2nd of February came the severe winter with frost and snow, and with all kinds of bad weather, so that there was no man alive who could remember so severe a winter as that, both through mortality of men and disease of cattle; both birds and fishes perished through the great cold and hunger.

Lima - July 12 2009 - Children die in harsh Peru winter. The winter does not usually start until June. This year the intense cold began in March. "The extreme cold, which has brought snow, hail, freezing temperatures and strong winds, has killed more children than recorded annually for the past four years." BBC News

Is the Earth's climate getting colder while it gets warmer? Ice Age Now

The Antartic Deep Sea is getting Colder... Chilling new evidence from the Atlantic Ocean is raising fears that western Europe could soon be gripped by a mini ice age. "Mini Ice Age" May Be Coming Soon, Sea Study Warns. National Geographic

I don't know! From my own observations we are experiencing a see-saw climate. This may have nothing to do with physical-material dimensions, but may be a side-effect of interdimensional forces we currently know nothing about.

A few years ago I was visiting a Glacier friend of mine high in the mountains of Austria. The year before the Glacier was there in all its glory looking cold, mean and white. Then the next year it was gone. I arrived with all my cold gear and I had to change into a T-shirt and shorts, it was so warm up there. Naturally, I assumed that the climate was getting warmer.

Well! No! This year I arrived in the mountains of Switzerland at the end of June, 2009 and it was cold. In previous years the same location had appeared to be getting warmer with snow completely melted from the high mountains. During my visit I woke up on a pretty cool morning to lots of fresh snowfall on those same high mountains.

From what I have experienced it seems to be both warmer and colder. The temperature fluctuations are wider, more volatile, more extreme and changes can be sudden. Maybe you can add the word challenging.

Perhaps we are facing an inconvenient challenge '- )

Swiss Funding Rainforest Destruction

Two of the largest Swiss banks, Credit Suisse and UBS, are to fund Rainforest destruction through expanding Palm Oil plantations in Indonesia. Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) will develop 1.3 million hectares of land for palm oil plantations with Swiss finance on the island of Indonesia Kalimantan (Borneo) and in Papua on the Western half of the island of New Guinea, as reported by Forest.org

ALERT! Swiss Francs Threaten Indonesian Rainforests
July 9, 2009
Major Swiss banks Credit Suisse and UBS are to further fund Golden Agri-Resources [search] (GAR), the world's largest listed palm oil company, which currently produces 10 percent of Indonesia's palm oil. A further 1.3 million hectares of land are to be developed for palm oil plantations [search] with Swiss finance on the island of Indonesia Kalimantan (Borneo) and in Papua on the Western half of the island of New Guinea. Let these banks and the Swiss government know that their financing of rainforest destruction and climate change is completely unacceptable and will be protested until it ends.

The Swiss banks create wealth for themselves and big Agri-Corporations through these kind of enterprises, while at home in Switzerland destruction of the local environment is a big issue. What if the whole plantation game falls into complete disrepair and major financial loss due to climate changes and degradation of the land? Who will pay for that in the future? Will some World Council hold the Swiss accountable, having helped finance the destruction of the environment in Indonesia?

In a strange twist of fate major banks of the world helped finance - through their greed - the current economic collapse. Ecologists and environmentalists know that million hectare mono-plantations are not sustainable long term. They are a short term option, especially when markets change due to coming revolutionary energy developments.

The people on this planet are going to have to take a lot of time to recover that land, and heal what is being destroyed. I foresee a future World Council, in a different world than the one we live in today. They are going to have to redress the balance. People do not want to see that the future of our whole planet is at stake. When you have no water and no food... maybe there is no choice but to face the facts and change the way you live?

My own impression is: why go there? Are people so brain-dead that they don't see the ecological crash coming? What are these people going to eat? Their Agro-dollars? As an example the Blogpost below: Rivers Dry - Crisis Looms is one account of a story of ecological degradation and destruction leading to loss of resources.

Credit Suisse, UBS, BNP Paribas to help finance cutting of rainforests for palm oil, say NGOs: Swiss banks, Credit Suisse and UBS, together with the French BNP Paribas, are helping Singapore-listed Golden Agri-Resources raise up to 280 million Swiss francs ($258 million) to finance conversion of large areas of rainforest in New Guinea and Borneo for oil palm plantations, reports the Bruno Manser Fund (BMF), a group that campaigns on behalf of forest people in Southeast Asia. Rivers Dry - Crisis Looms

This story, the illegal logging and destruction of the Aberdare forest has a history of its own. In 1999 people could see that the smaller rivers were drying up, and yet the exploitation and greed continued until today. In Kenya, the exploitation and degradation of the forest and water catchment areas have lead to a water crisis, and without water there is no life.

BBC News - July 10 2009 - A severe water shortage in in Kenya's capital Nairobi is being compounded by low water levels in Ndakaini Dam, which feeds the city with water. The dam has a capacity of 70m cubic metres but it is now down to just more than 26m cubic metres.

Environmentalists are attributing the low water levels to the failed rains and the destruction of the Aberdare forest catchment area in Central Province. Three of the four rivers that flow from the Aberdare forest to feed the Ndakaini Dam have dried up.

Rampant Logging Endangers Aberdare Forest
Forest.org - Nairobi (The Nation, January 6, 1999) - Saw-millers are gutting the Aberdare Forest, threatening water catchment areas. Trucks are penetrating the interior of the forest to fetch timber products. A team of journalists touring Zaina, Kabage and Njoguini areas of the Aberdare ranges found large clear patches arising from logging.

No signs of re-afforestation were noted. At one section, the saw-millers have cleared a large patch under pinus patula, which are less than 10 years old, making small streams dry up. The Press saw more than six lorries ferrying logs towards Nyeri Town. The targeted trees include pines, red cider and muhuru.

A Destroyed Forest
Islam Online - June 11 2007 - The expansion of Nairobi and other urban centers fueled the flames of profiteering from Kereita forest as they offered ready markets for its timber and charcoal products. "The Kereita forest destruction is an epitome of the wanton degradation that has reduced millions of hectares of most African forests to barren lands," said Nganga.

Kenya: Crisis looms as water sources dry up
Nairobi - July 9 2009 - An acute shortage of water resources has hit Kenya pushing the country into a crisis as water sources dry up in what experts say is a looming ecological disaster. The shortage has been complicated by drying up of water sources including rivers, lakes , dams ,wells and springs and worsened by a an ongoing 10 month drought. The result is that, households in cities and villages are going without water for days as pastoralists clash and kill each other over few remaining water points in arid parts of the country.

Palm Oil - Destroying Ancient Forests

Why is oil palm replacing tropical rainforests?
Why are biofuels fueling deforestation?

In a word, economics, though deeper analysis of a proposal in Indonesia suggests that oil palm development might be a cover for something more lucrative—logging.

Recently much has been made about the conversion of Asia's biodiverse rainforests for oil-palm cultivation. Environmental organizations have warned that by eating foods that use palm oil as an ingredient, Western consumers are directly fueling the destruction of orangutan habitat and sensitive ecosystems.

So, why is it that oil-palm plantations now cover millions of hectares across Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand? Why has oil palm become the world's number one fruit crop, trouncing its nearest competitor, the humble banana?

The answer lies in the crop's unparalleled productivity. Simply put, oil palm is the most productive oil seed in the world. A single hectare of oil palm may yield 5,000 kilograms of crude oil, or nearly 6,000 liters of crude according to data from JourneytoForever. For comparison, soybeans and corn—crops often heralded as top biofuel sources—generate only 446 and 172 liters per hectare, respectively.

Beyond biofuel, the crop is used for a myriad of purposes from an ingredient in food products to engine lubricants to a base for cosmetics. Palm oil is becoming an increasingly important agricultural product for tropical countries around the world, especially as crude oil prices top $70 a barrel. For example, in Indonesia, currently the world's second largest producer of palm oil, oil-palm plantations covered 5.3 million hectares of the country in 2004, according to a report by Friends of the Earth-Netherlands.

These plantations generated 11.4 million metric tons of crude palm oil with an export value of US$4.43 billion and brought in $42.4 million (officially) to the Indonesian treasury. Since then, the value of palm oil has only climbed. The price of palm oil currently stands at more than $400 per metric ton [by 2007 prices were more than twice this figure], translating to about $54 per barrel—quite cost competive to petroleum.

Beyond the loss of forest ecosystems, the production of palm oil, as currently practiced, can be quite damaging to the environment. In 2001 Malaysia's production of 7 million tons of crude palm oil generated 9.9 million tons of solid oil wastes, palm fiber, and shells, and 10 million tons of palm oil mill effluent, a polluted mix of crushed shells, water, and fat residues that has been shown to have a negative impact on aquatic ecosystems.

For palm oil or something else?
On paper, given the vast area of tropical forest in the region and the relatively high value of palm oil, the plan may seem like a viable option from an economic standpoint. However, closer analysis of the suitability of the land for oil-palm cultivation has green groups questioning the stated purpose of the plan, suggesting that there may be other intentions.

Surveys of the region commissioned by WWF found that much of the land is poorly suited for oil palm. Mountainous terrain combined with inappropriate altitude and climate for oil palm means that only 10 percent at most can be considered adequate for cultivation and lends credibility to claims by environmental groups that the entire plan may be a cover for a massive logging scheme to harvest the area's rich timber resources.

Greenomics, an Indonesian forestry non-governmental organization, has calculated the timber value in the border region at $26 billion. Logging the area set aside for oil-palm plantations would net substantial amounts of revenue for logging firms and considerable tax income for the Indonesian government. Further, since the oil palm project calls for extensive road construction, the infrastructure would be in place to deliver valuable—albeit previously inaccessible—timber to market. Read More...

Operation Trojan Horse

Okay! I cannot let this pass... Not the passing of Ufologist John Keel... but the passing of the genetically deteriorating brain created by thought. This one is not for John - this one is for us '- )

I was born into a Celtic village that no longer exists. I was a child out of time. A child of the Earth, a refugee from thousands of years of cultural genocide. I was born into a stagnant pool, where the mind of man was the biggest pollutant, seeping toxic waste [fear].

I was born a stranger in a strange land, looking at the stars and wondering where I took the wrong turn ?? Why were humans killing each other? Why were people starving? What was rich and what was poor- a totally alien concept to me as a young child (... it still is).

The global culture was so proud of itself: "Hey! We sent a man to the moon!!"

Hey! Then how did you miss the strange lights in the sky? How did you miss the mystery lights in the oceans? How did you miss the signals of the Ancestors, that all your modern religions sentenced my forefathers/mothers to death for? Ooops!!

The Ufo phenomenon is not new, the lights are not technical/mechanical lights in the sky. This mysterious phenomenon has been happening for tens of thousands of years, and vaccines don't stop everyone from seeing them...

I read John Keel's "Operation Trojan Horse" when I was 15 years old. A friend gave me the book when I mentioned that strange and unidentified lights hovered and floated effortlessly in the skies above our house. There was even a giant floating pyramid (not a triangle), that my cat sat watching through the window one night. Pyramids and cats [get it?].

I looked at the cat and I looked at the floating pyramid... I looked again at the cat and I looked at the floating pyramid light. Sort of like: You can see that? Well, it was more powerful than that. There seemed to be a communication and a connection, but then I always thought animals are more intelligent than humans when it comes to the unknown.

Humans are good at killing and cutting things up. Humans are good at cooperating to increase their dominance of the earth, and gain mastery of certain forms of technical power. They can utilise fire and destruction... But animals love the earth, and are good at living in balance with the earth.

Perhaps John Keel knew and understood things about Mothman that he never wrote? It took me until now to understand what John Keel was saying in Operation Trojan Horse. At first sight it seems like he is talking about aliens, lights in the skies and UFOs... But on reflection he was talking about us. We are Operation Trojan Horse, and the insight is so subtle that it stands together with Kubick's 2001: A Space Odyssey and Jiddu Krishnamurti's Notebook ...

John Keel flew under the radar all his life, and he is still flying undetected under the radar - well done John!! - ZenSu

Cherokee Prophecy

The Monster With The White Eyes

Handed down as a traditional Cherokee story from grandmother to grandchild, the storyteller cautions that long ago before the Europeans discovered Turtle Island and her indigenous people, the elders of those people warned of the monsters with white eyes yet to come. Similar stories are to be found among the Aztecs and Mexican people.

The spirits foretold that the monster with white eyes would cross the great eastern water. The monster would possess evil and terrifying power, and would wreak destruction in its path. The spirits of the animals and trees began to wither.

Prophecy states that Mother Earth herself would be devastated and her heartbeat would become faint. The monster was said to devour the children of Turtle Island tribe by tribe, with no escape. If one did survive, its spirit would be dead since it would now be lost and have no connection to its ancestors.

The story tells that one day the Earth would begin to sing a death song due to the severity of the harsh conditions.

When this happens, the children of the people who followed the white-eyed monster to the island would look into their hearts and realize that they faced annihilation at the hands of their fathers.

They would find that the spirits of the children of the tribes had been reborn, waiting to guide the children of the white-eyed monster. The few keepers of the truth would emerge, becoming strong enough to overcome the power of the white-eyed monster, restoring Mother Earth back to health.

The children of the tribes of Turtle Island would lead the people back to the right way. The races would live in peace, the spirit of the animals and trees would return to safety, and the monster with white eyes would fail to exist.

Other such prophecies are to be found in the Cherokee Legend of the White Snake. [Snake is a metaphor for DNA]
